Welcome to Western Port Equestrian Association (WPEA)

A friendly club on the Mornington Peninsula with rallies on the 3rd Sunday of each month

ABOUT

ABOUT US

Western Port Equestrian Association (WPEA) was established in 2009 when a small group of local riders saw the need for an equestrian club in the Mornington Peninsula/Hastings area that would cater to the needs and goals of their members, and in particular provide a club environment where families could ride together.

Our club provides a friendly environment where a diverse group of riders and horses can benefit from quality instruction and enjoy our grounds and social events. Our members are passionate about horses and participate in a wide range of equestrian pursuits.

Whether you’re a beginner or experienced adult rider, we welcome you to join our community.

Both types of membership receive full benefits and have the same volunteer duty expectations.

MEMBER EXPECTATIONS

All members are expected to support the club through volunteering at working bees and competitions that we run.

We typically hold 2 working bees per year, with the expectation that members attend at least one of these.

RALLIES & EVENTS

RALLIES & EVENTS

RALLIES

Held on the 3rd Sunday of each month, instruction typically includes flat, poles and showjumping/x-country lessons in small groups of no more than 4 riders.

Everyone is welcome and all riding levels accommodated. Prospective members are encouraged to attend a rally (unmounted) to view the grounds, meet our members and see a rally in action.

During winter if the grounds are especially wet, we may hold one or two rallies at a local indoor facility.

EVENTS

We run official HRCAV competitions each year, and in the last few years have held successful 3PE, Combined Training, Horse Trials and Dressage events.

Our members are often out competing across all HRCAV disciplines, and we support member participation in HRCAV Top Teams Trophy events.

SOCIAL

Our committee and members organise social events (on & off horse) from time to time based on member interest.

In the past we've held new year trail rides, casual rides at the grounds, Xmas BBQ & photoshoot, and weekends away.

Information on upcoming rallies, instructors & events will be posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages, with registrations through Event Secretary.

Contact our Uniform Coordinator for more information or to make a purchase.

COMPETITION ATTIRE

WPEA uniform items can be worn at rallies and in official competitions, however many members also choose to have a fancier competition outfit made in styles and finishes that suit them, and their preferred discipline.

For inspiration on competition attire you can review the photos on this site or have a chat to some of our members.
